Compressor/Pump: Service and Repair

Preliminary work

Remove right side of cover for centre underbody. -> 519319 Removing and installing cover for centre underbody - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Removing compressor for the levelling system

CAUTION

Escaping residual air

- Risk of eye injuries

-> Wear protective goggles.





Installation position of compressor for the levelling system

1. Release electric plug connections -1- ( -a- ) and pull them off -A-.





Disconnecting connectors on compressor

2. Remove front hoses at the compressor.





Removing front hoses

2.1. Use insert part T10212 to screw off the union nut -1-.
2.2. Pull off pressure hose -2-.
2.3. Release sleeve on the suction hose -3- using a screwdriver -A-.
2.4. Pull off suction hose -3- ( -B- ).
3. Remove five pressure hoses -2- at the valve block. The blue pressure hose at the top left can remain in place.





Removing pressure hoses

3.1. Use insert part T10212 to screw off the union nuts -1-.
3.2. Pull off pressure hoses -2-.
4. Unscrew fastening screws -1-.





Removing compressor

5. Remove compressor -2- in a downward direction.

Installing compressor for the levelling system

1. The compressor is installed in reverse order to removal.
2. Always observe the specified torque values for fastening screws and union nuts: -> 4X00IN Tightening torques for levelling system [1][2]Specifications

Subsequent work

1. Install right side of cover for centre underbody. -> 519319 Removing and installing cover for centre underbody - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Fill the levelling system. -> 4301IN Bleeding and filling levelling system 4301IN Bleeding and filling the levelling system
