Removing wiper arms

- Danger of limbs being trapped or severed

-> Switch off electric power to drive motor.
-> Make sure it does not switch on again.
-> Check that there is no electric charge.

Information

To counteract the deformation of the wiper rubber that occurs when it is at rest, the wiper arm is alternately moved to two different parked positions. However, the wiper arm may only be removed and installed in the lower parked position. Before removing or installing the wiper arm, operate the wiper once and watch whether the wiper is moved up again slightly into the upper parked position after it has reached the lower parked position. In this case, operate the wiper again so that the wiper arm is moved into the lower parked position.

-> Remove remote control and switch off ignition before disconnecting or removing electrical load.

1. Open the front lid and remove the caps -1-.

2. Unscrew and remove fastening nuts -2-.
3. Using pole terminal pull-off device Nr.99, pull the wiper arms off the wiper linkage and remove them.

Installing wiper arms

Information

1. Mount wiper arms on the wiper linkage.
2. Adjust the dimension -a- for the wiper arm on the driver's side -1-.

3. Adjust the dimension -b- for the wiper arm on the passenger's side -2-.





4. Hold the wiper arm by pressing lightly on the cone and fit the fastening nut -2-.

5. Screw on fastening nut -2- for the wiper arm and tighten to => Tightening torque: 32 Nm (24 ftlb.).
6. Press on the cap -1-.
7. Actuate the wiper motor until it comes to a stop and then check the position of the wiper arm again.
