Installation position of vacuum pump





Component overview





1. Loosen clamp -1- on vacuum line -2- for brake booster at the vacuum pump -3-.
Pull off vacuum line.

2. Pull vacuum line -1- off the vacuum pump -2- for automatic transmission.





Vacuum supply line -1-

3. Remove vacuum pump.
3.1. Detach and remove the vacuum pump -1-.





Removing vacuum pump (mechanical)

Remove the vacuum pump -1- by unscrewing the screws -2-. Turn the vacuum pump to the side and guide it past the fuel low-pressure line.

1. Replace sealing rings -2, 3- on vacuum pump -1-.





Replacing sealing rings on vacuum pump

Carefully loosen and lever off the sealing rings -2, 3- using a suitable tool. Clean contact surface of sealing rings -2, 3- and fit new sealing rings -2, 3-.
2. Install vacuum pump.
2.1. Clean mounting point before installation.
2.2. Fit and secure the vacuum pump -1-.





Installing vacuum pump (mechanical)

Align driver for vacuum pump -1- and fit the vacuum pump -1-. Screw in and tighten screws -2-.
Observe the correct tightening torque. -> 4X00IN Tightening torques for brake hydraulics [1][2]Hydraulic System, Brakes
3. Fit vacuum line -2- for brake booster onto the vacuum pump -3- and secure the clamp -1-.

4. Connect vacuum supply hose -1- to the vacuum pump -2-.

1. Fit the cross panel. -> 508119 Removing and installing cross panel - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Check engine-oil level and top up if necessary. -> 170117 Changing engine oil and oil filter Removal and Replacement
