-> Wear personal protective gear.

1. Remove rear wheel.
-> 44051900 Removing and installing wheel Removal and Replacement.
2. Unclip electric cable for oxygen sensors at the first mounting point after the sensors.
3. Loosen and unscrew oxygen sensors.
The oxygen sensor cables may also be turned by about four turns when unscrewing the sensors once the first cable fixing is released.
4. Remove exhaust manifold.

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

1. Unscrew four external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) at the connection to the cover plate (lower part).
2. Remove cover plate -1-.

Information

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

1. Position cover plate holder -1- on the cover plate (lower part) and secure with four external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) -2-.

1.1. Tighten the screws.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Install exhaust manifold.

Information

- When reinstalling oxygen sensors, grease the thread with the Optimol Paste MF lubricant (Part No. 000.043.207.07) only.

- New oxygen sensors have already been greased and the thread is fitted with a protection cap.

2. Fit oxygen sensors.
2.1. Turn the oxygen sensor cable anti-clockwise by about four turns and screw in the oxygen sensors.
2.2. The cable for each sensor must not be twisted after screwing in the sensor.
2.3. Tighten oxygen sensor.
=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)+/-8 Nm (+/-6 ftlb.)
3. Clip in oxygen sensor cable at the clip-in points.
4. Fit rear wheel.
