Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

WM 945019 Removing and installing steering-column switch

Preliminary work

1. Remove steering wheel -> 481019 Removing and installing steering wheel - section on "Removing" 481019 Removing and installing steering wheel.
2. Remove steering column trim -> 481319 Removing and installing steering column trim - section on "Removing" 481319 Removing and installing steering column trim.

Removing steering column switch

1. Release electric plug connection -1- ( -a- ) and pull it off -A-.





Pulling off connector

2. Unscrew clamping screw -1-.

3. Pull off steering-column switch -2- with control unit for steering wheel electronics from steering column -A-.
4. Unclip clip -1- with a screwdriver -A-.





Detaching clips

5. Unclip clip -2- with a screwdriver -B-.
6. Release electric plug connection -3- and pull it off -C-.

Installing steering column switch

1. Fasten clip -1- ( -A- ).





Inserting connector

2. Fasten clip -2- ( -B- ).
3. Insert the electric plug connection -3- until it engages securely -C-.
4. Push steering-column switch -1- with control unit for steering wheel electronics onto steering column -A-.





Tightening clamping screw

5. Screw in clamping screw -2-.
6. Insert electric plug connection -1- ( -A- ).





Inserting connector

Subsequent work

1. Install steering wheel -> 481019 Removing and installing steering wheel - section on "Installing" 481019 Removing and installing steering wheel.
2. Install steering column trim -> 481319 Removing and installing steering column trim - section on "Installing" 481319 Removing and installing steering column trim.
