Preliminary work

Preliminary work for PDCC control unit

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818 prior to removing the "old" PDCC control unit. -> 430855 Replacing control unit 430855 Replacing PDCC control unit.
2. Detach part of the side trim panel for the rear luggage compartment at the left and fold it forward. -> 700319 Removing and installing side trim panel for rear luggage compartment - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

NOTICE

Voltage peaks

- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit

-> Remove the ignition key and switch off load before disconnecting or removing load.





Installation position

1. Release connector -a- and pull it off the control unit.

2. Screw off both fastening nuts -1-.

Installing control unit for PDCC

1. Position control unit on the holder and secure it with the two fastening screws -1-. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2. Push connector onto the control unit and lock it -a-.

Subsequent work

Subsequent work for PDCC control unit

1. Secure side trim panel for rear luggage compartment at the left. -> 700319 Removing and installing side trim panel for rear luggage compartment - section on "Installing" Service and Repair.
2. If the control unit was replaced, the "new" control unit must be adapted to suit the vehicle using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818. -> 430855 Replacing control unit 430855 Replacing PDCC control unit.
