WM 276019 Removing and installing starter
Preliminary work
1. Disconnect the battery -> 9X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 9X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
2. Remove fuel distribution pipe -> 243019 Removing and installing fuel distribution pipe - section on "Removing" Service and Repair.

Installation position of starter (example)
1. Remove protection cap -3- from over the electric connections for the starter.

2. Screw off fastening nuts -1 and 2- on the electric connections at the starter.
3. Remove electric connections -3 and 4- ( -arrow- ).

4. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the cable duct.

5. Pull off connectors for injectors -2- on both cylinder banks -arrow-.
6. Release connectors on the rear knock sensors on both cylinder banks -a- and pull them off -arrow-.

7. Carefully hold the cable duct to one side.
8. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the starter.

9. Remove wastegate cycle valve -1- from the bracket -arrow-.

10. Remove the starter.
Installing starter
Installation position of starter (example)
- The starter is installed in reverse order to removal.
- The tightening torques must always be checked: -> 1001TW Tightening torques, tightening sequences, assembly overviews [1][2]Specifications.
Subsequent work
1. Install fuel distribution pipe -> 243019 Removing and installing fuel distribution pipe - section on "Installing" Service and Repair.
2. Connect the battery.
