Saab SST # 84 71 112 SRS System Tester:








SPECIAL TOOL
The Saab SRS system tester, or an aftermarket equivalent, is needed to perform this procedure.

CONNECTING SAAB SRS SYSTEM TESTER
1. Connect the tester to the special SRS data link connector located behind the lower compartment in the center console.
2. Turn Ignition ON, "00" appears in the display.
3. Press "B" key on the SRS tester.

Note: The first time it is pressed the code for SRS (system designation) "41" will be displayed. The second time it is pressed the program version "03", etc. will be displayed, as shown in the table below,


CODE EXPLANATION

41 = SRS system designation
03 = Program version
O1 = Duration of fault in hours*) (first fault)
15 = Duration of fault in minutes*) (first fault) (Displayed in steps of five minutes.)
2d = Diagnostic trouble code (2 digits/letters)

L = Fault type.
L = Permanent (persistent) fault
S = Intermittent (sporadic) fault


*) = If the time exceeds 99 hours and 55 minutes, the display will show 99 hours and 99 minutes.

Note: If several faults are stored in the memory, the tester will continue with the next trouble code followed by the fault type each time the "0" key is pressed. When the tester has gone through all the faults, "EF" will appear in the display. If the "C" key is pressed again, the tester will start from the beginning again, displaying the code for SRS (system designation), and so on.
