Shifter A/T: Adjustments
SELECTOR LEVER AND GEAR INDICATION
Removing/Adjusting
1 Undo the two screws on the front of the selector lever and lift the handle from the rod.
2 Set the selector lever to position 1.
3 Undo the screw and remove the gear indicator cover.
4 Remove the centre console.
5 Undo the screw securing the air duct and lift it up slightly.
6 Undo the four screws securing the selector lever bracket and move the bracket forwards or back-wards.
7 Refit the gear indicator cover and check the position in the opening in the cover. Check that gear indication is correct and that there is play in positions P and 1.
8 Check selector cable adjustment in positions N and D. Play should be the same in both positions.
Fitting
Refit in reverse order.
Left-hand drive cars:
The plastic spacer which angles the selector lever towards the driver should be fitted on the right-hand side.
Right-hand drive cars:
The plastic spacer which angles the selector lever towards the driver should be fitted on the left-hand side.
