Ground Connection
Ground.
The following are connected to ground at grounding point G7P:
^ Pin 55, outputs to the ignition coil module
^ Pin 6, outputs to the injectors
^ Pin 34, other actuating device outputs (idle speed control, etc.)
The control module's connectors are connected internally to each other and to pin 28. The engine can be started if any of these pins is connected to ground.
G7P also grounds the mass air flow sensor.
The following are connected to ground at grounding point G7S:
^ Control module pin 28
^ The camshaft position sensor and its screened lead
^ The screened lead of the crankshaft position sensor
^ The screened leads of the oxygen sensors
^ The screened leads of the knock sensors
Sensor Ground.
The following sensors are connected to ground via control module pin 71:
^ Engine coolant temperature sensor
^ Intake air temperature sensor
^ Throttle position sensor
^ Knock sensors.
Reference Ground.
The following sensors are connected to ground via control module pin 46:
^ Front heated oxygen sensors, banks 1 and 2
^ Rear heated oxygen sensors, banks 1 and 2
The following sensors are connected to ground via control module pin 45:
^ Mass air flow sensor
IMPORTANT: The three ground connections on the ignition coil module bracket must always be kept separate.
