Installation





BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR DISC





(a) Align the matchmarks of the disc and axle hub and install the disc.

NOTICE:
When replacing the disc, select the position that gives the minimum disc runout.

2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING





(a) Install the disc brake cylinder mounting onto the axle beam with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 57 Nm (585 kgf-cm, 42 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT





(a) Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of 2 new dust boots.

HINT
Apply at least 0.3 g (0.01 oz.) of lithium soap base glycol grease to each dust boot.

(b) Install the 2 dust boots onto the disc brake cylinder mounting.





4. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD GUIDE PIN





(a) Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to 2 guide pins.

(b) Install the 2 guide pins onto the disc brake cylinder mounting.





5. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE





(a) Install the 2 pad support plates onto the disc brake cylinder mounting.

NOTICE:
Be sure to install each pad support plate to the correct position and direction.

6. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI SQUEAL SHIM





(a) Apply disc brake grease to the inside of the 2 No. 1 anti squeal shims as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
* When replacing worn pads, the anti squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
* Apply disc brake grease to the area that contacts the anti squeal shim.
* Disc brake grease can come out slightly from the area where the anti squeal shim is installed.
* Make sure that disc brake grease is not applied onto the lining surface.

(b) Install the 4 anti squeal shims onto each brake pad.





7. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD





(a) Install the 2 disc brake pads onto the disc brake cylinder mounting.

NOTICE:
There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the disc brake pads or the rear disc.

8. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY





(a) When reusing the pads, use SST to turn the piston counterclockwise to the position where the protrusion portion of the pad does not protrude beyond the piston groove.

NOTICE:
Place the disc between the 2 brake pads and determine the piston return value.

(b) Hold the guide pin with a spanner and install the disc brake cylinder onto the disc brake cylinder mounting with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 34 Nm (350 kgf-cm, 25 ft-lbf)

9. INSTALL REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE





(a) Install the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.

Torque : 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)

HINT
Install the flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the disc brake cylinder.

10. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Insert the parking brake cable into the disc brake cylinder and engage the clip claws of the parking brake cable to the rear disc brake cylinder guide as shown in the illustration.

(b) Connect the cable end to the rear disc brake cylinder operation lever.





(c) Install the cable bracket with the bolt.





Torque : 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)

11. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER Installation

12. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair

13. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER Service and Repair

14. BLEED BRAKE LINE Service and Repair

15. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR Service and Repair

16. INSPECT FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Service and Repair

17. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK

18. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

19. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments

20. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
