2AZ-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT Removal

5. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY

(a) Using SST, remove the 4 bolts and water pump pulley.

7. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made)

(a) Disengage the crankshaft position sensor wire from the engine water pump.

(b) Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor wire from the clamp bracket.

(d) Using a screwdriver, pry between the water pump and cylinder block, and then remove the water pump.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the water pump and cylinder block.

8. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY (except TMC Made)

(a) Disconnect the connector of the crankshaft position sensor.

(b) Disengage the clamp and disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector from the connector clamp bracket.

(c) Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor wire from the clamp bracket.

(d) Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 clamp brackets.

(e) Using a screwdriver, pry between the water pump and cylinder block, and then remove the water pump.
