Power Window Motor: Testing and Inspection

WINDOW / GLASS: POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR: INSPECTION; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]

1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Check the operation of the power window regulator motor assembly RH.









NOTICE:
Do not apply positive (+) battery voltage to any terminals other than terminal 1 or 3 to avoid damaging the pulse sensor inside the motor.

(1) Apply battery voltage to the power window regulator motor assembly RH and check the operation of the power window regulator motor assembly RH.

(b) Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows:

Standard:





* If the result is not as specified, replace the power window regulator motor assembly RH.

CAUTION:
Reset the power window regulator motor (initialize the pulse sensor) after installing the power window regulator motor and regulator assembly onto the door.

2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Check the operation of the power window regulator motor assembly LH.









NOTICE:
Do not apply positive (+) battery voltage to any terminals other than terminal 1 or 3 to avoid damaging the pulse sensor inside the motor.

(1) Apply battery voltage to the power window regulator motor assembly LH and check the operation of the power window regulator motor assembly LH.

(b) Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows:

* If the result is not as specified, replace the power window regulator motor assembly LH.

CAUTION:
Reset the power window regulator motor (initialize the pulse sensor) after installing the power window regulator motor and regulator assembly onto the door.
