Rear Suspension
Precautions for Handling of Rear Shock Absorber
WARNING:
Since a high-pressure gas is sealed inside each rear shock absorber (1), there is a risk of personal injury if you do not take proper precautions when handling them.
- Do not disassemble any shock absorber.
- Do not put a shock absorber into any fire.
- Do not store a shock absorber where it gets hot.
- Before disposing of a shock absorber, be sure to drill an approximately 3 mm (0.12 in.) diameter hole (2) in it at the point indicated by the arrow in the figure and let the gas and oil out of the cylinder.
- Be sure to wear eye protection when drilling a gas release hole. Although the gas itself is harmless, metal chips produced by the drilling can injure your eyes.
