Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair

RECEIVER REMOVAL


1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

INSTALLATION HINT: Evacuate air from refrigeration system.

Discharging & Evacuating System

Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.

Charging the System

Specified amount:
600 ± 50 g (21.16 ± 1.70 oz.)







2. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER SEAL







3. DISCONNECT 2 LIQUID TUBES FROM RECEIVER
Remove the 2 bolts and both tubes.

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

REMOVAL NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture dirt out of the system.

INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.

4. REMOVE RECEIVER
Remove the holder bolt and pull the receiver upward from the receiver holder.

INSTALLATION HINT: If receiver was replaced, add compressor oil to compressor.

Add 10 cc (0.4 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil:
ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

5. REMOVE RECEIVER HOLDER
Remove the bolt and holder.

RECEIVER INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
