DTC P0787 Shift/Timing Solenoid Low (Shift Solenoid Valve ST)

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC Detection Conditions:

Shift solenoid valve ST is switched ON-OFF by a signal from ECM so that let in or out timing of 2nd brake is adjusted by operating orifice control valve. Therefore, shift solenoid valve ST operates when letting in or out reverse clutch.

If it is broken, the shift shock becomes big.

Fail-safe function:
If the gear is in 3rd, the 4th up-shift is prohibited. (If the gear is in 4th, down-shift to 3rd gear is performed.)

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

Monitor Strategy:

Typical Enabling Conditions:

Typical Malfunction Thresholds:

Component Operating Range:

The ECM commands gear shift by turning the shift solenoid valves "ON/OFF". When there is an open or short circuit in any shift solenoid valve circuit, the ECM detects the problem and illuminates the MIL and stored the DTC. And the ECM performs the fail-safe function and turns the other shift solenoid valves in good condition "ON/OFF" (In case of an open or short circuit, the ECM stops sending current to the circuit).
