DTC B15D5 - Rear Seat Entertainment System Disconnected

DESCRIPTION

The television display assembly and stereo component tuner assembly are connected by an AVC-LAN communication line.
The navigation receiver assembly is also connected to the stereo component tuner assembly by an AVC-LAN communication line.
This DTC will be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the stereo component tuner assembly and television display assembly.
HINT: If either B1595 or B15D5 and either B1561 or B159F are output, troubleshoot for B1561 or B159F first.





HINT:
- *1: Even if no fault is present, this DTC may be stored depending on the battery condition or engine start voltage.
- The navigation receiver assembly is the master unit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: After replacing the stereo component tuner assembly of vehicles subscribed to pay-type satellite radio broadcasts, registration of the XM radio ID is necessary.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.
Result:

B -- GO TO DTC CHART
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
(a) Check for optional components.
(1) Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.
Result:





HINT:
- Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
- This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

B -- CHECK DTC
A -- Continue to next step.

3. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
(a) Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
NOTICE: Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.
OK:
No DTCs are output.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)
OK -- END
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)




(a) Disconnect the Q1 television display assembly connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:





(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER - TELEVISION DISPLAY)




(a) Disconnect the M21 stereo component tuner assembly connector.




(b) Disconnect the Q1 television display assembly connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

7. REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY
(a) Replace the television display assembly Removal.
(b) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(c) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.
OK:
No DTCs are output.

NG -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY
OK -- END
8. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY
(a) Replace the stereo component tuner assembly Removal.
(b) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(c) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same trouble occurs again.
OK:
No DTCs are output.

NG -- REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
