Rear Spoiler On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating Program

Requirements

- Voltage supply and fuses OK according to wiring diagram
- "Terminal 15 on" required to initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD).


NOTE:
- If the display remains blank, check the VAG. 1551 voltage supply.
- Additional operating instructions can be obtained by pressing the VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) "HELP" button.
- The -> button is used to advance through the program sequence.
- The "PRINT" button is used for switching on the printer (warning lamp in button lights up).

- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks
- Switch ignition on.
- Switch printer on with "PRINT" button (warning lamp in button lights up).

Indicated on display:

Enter address word XX


- Press buttons -5- and -4- to select "Rear spoiler" address word 54.

- Confirm entry with -Q- button.

NOTE:
- If one of the malfunction types appear in the display, the possible causes of the malfunction can be printed out by pressing the "HELP" button.

Control module does not answer


- Ignition must be switched on.

K wire not switching to B+


- Malfunctions have occurred at the start of or during the program (external interference?).


Rapid data transfer ->
No signal from control module


- Check wiring connections for Data link Connector (DLC), as well as voltage supply and Ground (GND) connections.


Rapid data transfer ->
Error in communication link


- After repairing possible causes of malfunction, once again press buttons -5- and -4- to select "Rear spoiler" address word 54.
