Pilot Bearing: Service and Repair

Pilot needle bearing
Special tools and equipment





^ 21/1 Kukko puller and 22/1 Kukko support
or
^ 10-202 extractor
^ 3176 centering mandrel
or
^ VW 207C drift

Note: When installing an engine into a vehicle with manual transmission, check whether the needle bearing is installed in the rear of the crankshaft. If necessary, install needle bearing.

Removing





- Pull out with puller -A-, i.e. 21/2 Kukko extractor and 22/1 Kukko support or 10-202 Puller

Installing





- Remove with VW207C Drift or 3176 Centering mandrel.
^ Side of needle bearing with writing on it must be readable.

^ Dimension a = 1.5 mm
