Fan Shroud: Service and Repair

Fan Shroud

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.

- Pull off retaining clamps for the upper coolant hose, remove the bolt - 1 -.






- Disconnect the upper coolant hose from the radiator.

- Remove the front bumper.

- Move the lock carrier into the service position. Procedures

- Disconnect the harness connectors for the coolant fan.

- Disengage the retainer - arrows - and remove the fan shroud upward.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- The fan shroud must engage into the mounting points intended for it.

- Fill the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
