Coolant Thermostat Housing Overview

• The coolant thermostat housing is located in the lower oil filter housing.

• For the routing of the coolant hoses to the thermostat housing, refer to => [ Cooling System Components, Engine Side ] Cooling System Components, Engine Side.






1 Lower Oil Filter Housing

• With the coolant thermostat housing.

• Oil filter housing overview. Refer to => [ Oil Filter Housing Overview ] Description and Operation.

2 Bolt

• 20 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

• Always replace

3 Bolt

• 10 Nm

4 Bracket

5 Bolt

• 10 Nm

6 Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265)

7 Connecting Piece

8 Gasket

• Always replace

9 Coolant Thermostat

• Note the installed position.

• Checking: Heat up the thermostat in water.

• Opening begins approximately 80 (176 °F).

• Ends approximately 105 °C (221 °F).

• Opening lift minimum: 7 mm.

• 20 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

• Always replace
