Instrument Cluster

• Before removing the instrument cluster, perform the "Replace instrument cluster" procedure to read out the data saved in the Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285). Refer to --> [ Instrument Cluster, Adapting ] Testing and Inspection.

CAUTION!
• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove ignition key.

Removing

• Removal of the steering wheel is not necessary.

- Pull steering wheel all the way out and lock it in the lowest position.

- Remove upper section of steering column trim.

- Remove mounting bolts - arrows - of instrument cluster.





• The fixed electrical connection to the instrument cluster is disconnected automatically when the cluster is pulled out of the instrument panel opening. Harness connector is installed permanently in vehicle and is disconnected automatically when pulling out instrument cluster.

- Pull instrument cluster out of instrument panel.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
