High-Mounted Brake Lamp Bulb (M25), R36

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Wedge (T10039/1)

Torque Screwdriver (V.A.G 1624)

The high-mounted brake lamp bulb is located in the roof edge spoiler above the rear window.

The high-mounted brake lamp contains LEDs.

The high-mounted brake lamp cannot be disassembled.

If damaged, the entire high-mounted brake lamp must be replaced.

Removing:

- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

- Remove the roof edge spoiler.

- Remove the wiring grommet seal from the retaining strip and disconnect the connector.

- Remove both screws - 2 - on inside of roof edge spoiler.





- Release the retainer - 1 - in the - direction of the arrow - and remove the high-mounted brake lamp back from the roof edge spoiler.

Installing:

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

When installing the roof edge spoiler, make sure the wiring grommet seal is seated correctly.

The tightening specification for the bolts - 2 - is 2 Nm.
