High-mount Brake Lamp Bulb (M25)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Wedge (T10039/1)

Torque Screwdriver (V.A.G 1624)

The high-mounted brake lamp bulb is located in the rear lid above the rear window.

The high-mounted brake lamp contains LEDs.

The high-mounted brake lamp cannot be disassembled.

If damaged, the entire high-mounted brake lamp must be replaced.

Removing:

CAUTION!
When removing High-mount Brake Light, make sure that the surrounding gasket is not damaged.

When removing and installing components in a visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), mask off the areas where a prying tool ((T10039/1), screwdriver) will be positioned with commercially available adhesive tape.

- Switch ignition and all electrical consumers off and disengage the key or ignition switch in position 0 (ignition off).

- To prevent damage to paintwork, cover the painted area on roof spoiler above the high-mounted brake lamp with conventional adhesive tape.

- Place the (T10039/1) between the upper edge of the high-mounted brake lamp and roof edge spoiler as illustrated.





- Press the brake light down with a (T10039/1) wedge and release the upper brake light locking tabs toward back.

- Pull high-mounted brake lamp toward rear out of installation opening in roof edge spoiler, paying attention to lengths of connected wires.

If the high-mounted brake lamp cannot be removed as described, inform the TSC or importer.

- Disengage and disconnect harness connector - 1 - and remove high-mounted brake lamp - 2 -.





Installing:

Make sure seal has proper fit when installing high-mounted brake lamp. Seal must not have any bulges and must not be damaged.

- Install connector onto brake light.

- Clip brake light into roof edge spoiler again, starting with the lower edge.
