Connecting The Volvo Scan Tool (ST)



QA. CONNECTING THE VOLVO ST

NOTE:
In order to monitor as many signals as possible the Volvo ST should be connected to both control modules and the power stage when a test is being carried out.

Only use the memory cassette indicated In Special tools. Always use adapter 951-0019 when testing LH 3.1.

Adapter 981-3064 with hook will not show fan speed in a Monitor Test on MFI. Adapter 981-3064 with no hook will not show all fault messages in Monitor Test. If an adapter is connected to one of the control modules or the power stage the ST must be connected and powered up or the control system may be affected.

Connecting The Volvo ST

1. Ignition off. Remove the fuse from the battery (in engine compartment (-90) or no.6 (91-).

2. Connect the adapters to the MFI and DI systems and the power stage. Connect the extension cable and the branch box.

3. Connect the branch box to the ST.

4. Insert the MFI / DI memory cassette. Install the fuse.

5. Connect the power to the ST.

Disconnect The Volvo ST

1. Ignition off.

2. Disconnect the power to the ST.

3. Remove the fuse from the battery (in engine compartment (-90) or no.6 (91-)).

4. Disconnect all adapters.
