REGINA #9 Main relay power missing
Conditions for fault message:
Fault message stored if voltage is below 1.0 Volt.
Causes of fault:
Breakage in wire between Regina #9 and [1][2]system relay.
Breakage in wire between Regina #21 and [1][2]system relay.
Fault symptoms:
Engine does not start.
For intermittent fault, the engine dies or bucks considerably.

Disconnection of Volvo System Tester
- Disconnect the System Tester according to P1. P1. Connection of Volvo System Tester
^ Continue with Connection of measurement box PE2.

Connection of measurement box
Connect the measurement box to Regina and check the chassis connections according to N1-N2. N. Measurement Box, Signal Description
^ Continue with Checking of #21 PE3.
PE3
Checking of #21
- Connect control unit to measurement box.
- Insert fuse no.1.
- Ignition off.
Connect a voltmeter between #21 and #5.
The voltmeter should show battery voltage.
If the value differs:
Test [1][2]system relay #21 PE4.
- Ignition on.
The voltmeter should show approx. 0.8 V.
If both values are OK:
^ Checking #9 PE5.
If the values differ:
^ Test with a new control unit.

Testing of [1][2]system relay #21
- Test with a new [1][2]system relay.
- Repeat the previous measurement.
If the value is OK:
^ [1][2]System relay was defective.
If value still differs:
^ Check the wires between the control unit and battery via the [1][2]system relay for breakage according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring

- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between #9 and #5.
The voltmeter should show battery voltage.
If the value is OK:
Intermittent fault.
^ Check the connections to #21 and #9 for loose connection according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
If the value differs:
^ Test [1][2]system relay #9 PE6.
PE6
Test of [1][2]system relay #9
- Test with a new [1][2]system relay.
- Repeat the previous measurement.
If the value is OK:
^ [1][2]System relay was defective.
If the value still differs:
^ Check the wire between #9 and [1][2]system relay for breakage according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
