REGINA #35 Ignition switch voltage missing



Conditions for fault message:
Fault message stored if voltage does not exceed approx. 6 Volts within 25 seconds after the Running Test has begun. If Rex is connected to the System Tester, a fault message is also issued if voltage at Rex #6 and Regina #35 differ from each other.

Causes of fault:
Break in line between Regina #35 and ignition switch.

Fault symptoms:
Engine does not start.
For intermittent fault, the engine dies or bucks considerably.

Disconnection of the Volvo System Tester
- Disconnect the System Tester according to P1. P1. Connection of Volvo System Tester
^ Continue with Connection of measurement box PH2.

Connection of measurement box
Connect the measurement box to Regina and check the chassis connections according to N1-N2. N. Measurement Box, Signal Description
^ Continue with Checking of voltage supply PJ3

Checking of voltage supply
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between #35 and #5 (ground).
The voltmeter should show battery voltage




Check that the voltmeter shows battery voltage even when the engine is cranked and during engine operation.

If both values are OK:
Intermittent fault.
^ Check the connections between #35 and the ignition switch for loose connection according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring

If the value differs:
^ Check the value between #35 and the ignition switch for breakage according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
