Checking Wheel Sensor Resistance [EA4]
Checking Wheel Sensor Resistance
- Ignition off.
- Wheel sensors on front wheels: Remove wheel for better access.
- clean carefully round wheel sensor connector. Brush and blow clean.
- Disconnect wheel sensor.
Connect an ohmmeter across wheel sensor connector terminals 1 and 2.
NOTE: On cars with integrated cabling to rear wheel sensors, take readings at connector 24/19 terminals:
2 and 4 (DTC 3-1-4, towards wheel sensors)
1 and 3 (DTC 3-1-3, towards wheel sensors)
Ohmmeter should read 1040-1160 Ohms.
If reading is OK:
- Source of fault was poor contact in wheel sensor connector. Check wheel sensor and control module connectors (and for rear wheel sensors, connectors 24/19, 24/4 and 24/2) for loose contacts as per HA5 and contact resistance and oxidation as per HA6. Checking Leads and Connections [HA]
If reading is incorrect:
- Try another wheel sensor as per NA. Front wheel sensor, replacement and NB. Rear wheel sensor, replacement. Service and Repair
