Check Brake Light Switch [EC5]

Check Brake Light Switch





- Ignition off.
- Disconnect negative battery lead (brake light switch - older model).
- Disconnect brake light switch.





Connect an ohmmeter between brake light switch and terminals 1 and 2.

With the brake pedal fully released, the circuit should be open and resistance should be infinite.





With the brake pedal pushed down, the circuit should be made and resistance should be around 0 Ohms.

If readings are OK:
- Check signal lead EC6. Check Signal Lead [EC6]

If readings are incorrect:
- Try another brake light switch as per LC. Brake light switch, replacement and adjustment. Service and Repair
