Checking Hydraulic Unit

- Ignition off.





- Connect test box and check ground points as per JA. Connecting test box. Connecting Test Box [JA]

- Disconnect control module.

First connect a temporary lead between #1 and #34 on test box.

Then connect other temporary leads between #2, #21, #36 and #1 on test box.





NOTE: When the ignition is switched on, the outlet valves open. To prevent valves overheating, do not leave ignition on for more than 20 seconds. Wait at least 30 seconds before next test.

- Ignition on.
- Push brake pedal right down and hold it there or block it in that position.
- Ignition off.
- Remove outlet valve leads between #2, #21, #36 and 31. Leave lead between #1 and #34.





Connect a temporary lead between test box #1 and #15.

- Keep brake pedal pressed right down with your foot.





NOTE: When the ignition is switched on, the hydraulic pump starts up and the brake pedal should be pushed back towards the steering wheel.

Warning: Keep legs clear of steering wheel.

- Ignition on.





Brake pedal should be pushed back towards the steering wheel.

- Ignition off.
- Remove the temporary leads.

If brake pedal is pushed back:
- Check pedal sensor EK6. Checking Pedal Sensor [EK6]

If brake pedal is not pushed back:
- Try another hydraulic unit as per NE. Hydraulic unit, replacement. Service and Repair
