Intermittent Fault

Check leads and terminals.





- Check brake light switch and control module connector for loose contact as per HA5 and contact resistance and oxidation as per HA6. Checking Leads and Connections [HA]

- Check lead between brake light switch connector terminal 1 and battery positive terminal for intermittent open circuit as per HA2. Open Circuit [HA2]

- Check lead between brake light switch connector terminal 2 and control module #32 for intermittent open circuit as per HA2 and intermittent short to ground as per HA3. Checking Leads and Connections [HA]

In automatic models, also check lead between brake light switch connector terminal 2 and automatic gearbox control module #B26.
