EB. Fault code 1-1-3 Regina

* 1-1-3 Injectors




Conditions for fault codes:
The control unit measures the valves' current consumption. If #18 is short circuited to ground then current consumption will be excessively high.

Causes of fault:
No voltage supply to injectors. Auxiliary relay defective Break or short circuit to ground between #18 and the auxiliary relay.

Fault symptoms:
The engine does not start.
If an intermittent fault, the engine dies or bucks.

Checking of resistance to ground
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connectors from all injectors.
Connect an ohmmeter between 1 on all connectors and ground.

The ohmmeter show infinite resistance for all measurements.

If all measurements are OK:
^ Checking of injector resistance

If there is any deviation:
^ Check the wires with regard to short circuit to ground according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring

Checking of injector resistance
- Ignition off.
Connect an ohmmeter between 1 and 2 (ground) and measure all the injectors.
The ohmmeter should show approx. 16 ohms.

If the value is OK:
^ Checking of voltage supply EB3.

If there is a deviation:
^ Test with a new injector.

Checking of voltage supply
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between 1 on the connector and ground on all injectors.
The voltmeter should show battery voltage.

If the value is OK:
^ Connection of measurement box EB4.

If there is a deviation:
^ Check the wiring for breakage between the injector and the auxiliary relay according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring

Connection to measurement box
Connect the measurement box and check the contacts according to N1-N2. N. Measurement Box, Signal Description
^ Continue with Checking of wiring and injector resistance EB5.

Checking of wiring and injector resistance
- Ignition off.
- Connect all the injectors.
- Remove the auxiliary relay and bridge connectors 2 and 3. Connect an ohmmeter between #9 and #18.
The ohmmeter should show approx. 4 ohms.

If the value is OK:
Intermittent fault.
^ Check the connectors with regard to loose connections according to CD.

If there is a deviation:
^ Check the wiring between the injectors and control unit for signs of breakage according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
