DTC 1-3-3
EJ. Fault code 1-3-3 Regina
1-3-3 Throttle contact at idle setting
Conditions for fault code:
If the control unit receives a signal from the idle switch when engine speed is above 1500 rpm and the load corresponds to a partial load, this is interpreted as lithe engine cannot possibly function at the idle setting.
Cause of fault:
Short circuit to ground in the wires leading to the control unit.
Idle switch does not disengage.
Fault symptoms:
None.
EJ1
Checking of the idle switch
- Rotate the throttle control a little and listen for the clicking sound of the idle switch.
If the switch clicks:
^ Checking the chassis connection EJ2.
If the switch does not click:
^ Adjustment of the throttle switch according to "R. Throttle housing and control pulley". RA. Checking the Throttle Housing Setting
EJ2
Checking the chassis connection
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the throttle switch.
Connect an ohmmeter between 2, connector and ground.
The ohmmeter should show approx. 0 ohms.
If the value Is OK:
^ Checking the voltage supply EJ3.
If the value differs:
^ Check the wiring and chassis connection for signs of breakage and contact resistance according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
EJ3
Checking the voltage supply
- Ignition off.
- Sensor disconnected.
Connect a voltmeter between 1 and 2 (ground) on the connector.
The voltmeter should show approx. 5 V.
If the value is OK:
^ Connection of measurement box EJ4
If the value differs:
^ Check the wiring and connections for short circuit according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
EJ4
Connection of measurement box
Connect the measurement box to Regina and check the chassis connections according to N1-N2. N. Measurement Box, Signal Description
^ Continue with Checking of signal EJ5
EJ5
Checking of signal
- Connect the control unit to the measurement box.
- Connect the throttle switch.
- Insert fuse no.1.
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between #2 and #5 (ground).
The voltmeter should show approx. 0 V.
If the voltage is approx. 5 V:
The idle switch is never on.
^ Adjust the idle switch according to RC. Adjustment of throttle switch. RC. Adjustment of Throttle Switch
- Rotate the throttle control a little.
The voltmeter should show approx. 5 V.
If both values are OK:
Intermittent fault.
^ Check the connectors for loose connections according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
If the voltage Is still 0 V:
The idle switch is on all the time.
^ Test with a new throttle switch.
^ Adjust the throttle switch according to RC. Adjustment of throttle switch. RC. Adjustment of Throttle Switch
^ Check the signal according to Checking of signal EJ5
