DTC 2-3-3

EN. Fault code 2-3-3 Regina

2-3-3 Adaptive idling control out of limits

Conditions for fault codes:
When the adaptive idle control results are outside the limits for open or shut idle valve, the control unit cannot keep the idle speed constant. The control unit sets the fault code but continues to regulate the idle valve so as to maintain as even an engine speed as possible.
If the control unit has all the indicati6ns that the engine is operating at idle speed and the engine still runs at a speed in excess of 1024 rpm, code 2-3-3 is set.

Causes of fault:
Air leakage.
Incorrectly adjusted throttle valve.
Idle valve sticks.

Fault symptoms:
Idle speed too high or too low.

EN1

Checking of idle speed
- Gear selector in N position.
- AC unit switched off.
- Start the engine and run it until warm.
Idling speed should be approx. 780 rpm

1. Normal Idle speed:
Intermittent fault.

2. High Idle speed:
^ Check hoses and couplings for signs of leakage according to "U. Air and vacuum hoses" U. Checking the Air and Vacuum Hoses
^ Adjust the throttle housing according to RA. Check the throttle housing setting.

3. Low Idle speed:
^ Check whether the idle valve and hoses leading to it are clogged with soot or other deposits.
