DA. Volvo Diagnostic Key

General
The following diagram shows the display text for the Volvo Diagnostic Key used in troubleshooting the Rex-I and Regina. The symbols show which keys to press to obtain the various texts. Stages DA2-DA3 show how the Diagnostic Key is used in mode 1-3. For further description of the Volvo Diagnostic Key please refer to the user manual which is supplied with the instrument.

Connection and initialization
- Ignition off.
- Insert memory cassette.
- Connect the Volvo Diagnostic Key to the diagnostic socket.
- Ignition on.

Search for text "A2 FUEL SYSTEM Press *"

DA2




Mode 1
Search for text "Func1: Diagnosis Press *"
- Press according to the diagram on left.
- Read off all the fault codes.
- Note down all the fault codes.

^ Continue with Deletion of fault codes DA3.

DA3




Deletion of fault codes
Search for text "Erase FUEL SYS Press *" according to diagram X alternatively diagram Y.
- Press according to the diagram on left.
- Check that all the fault codes are deleted according to Mode 1 D~.

If the fault codes In the ignition system have not been read:
^ Search for the text "A6 IGNIT. SYSTEM: Press *".
^ Continue with Mode 1 DA2.

Mode 2
Search for text "Func 2: Activate Press *"
- Press according to diagram on left.
- Activate the sensors one at a time.
- Read on the display which sensors are activated.

If no response appears on the display and the LED still flashes quickly when a sensor is activated:
^ The control unit has not received any signal from the sensor.

Mode 3
Search for text "Func 3: Cycl. act. Press *"
- Press according to diagram on left.
- Listen to the component to find out if it is activated.

If the component is not activated:
^ The component has not received any signal from the control unit.
