Knee bolster, replacement

Removing soundproofing panel and knee bolster





Note! The figure shows the driver's side. The method of replacing the knee bolster is basically the same on both sides.

Remove
- soundproofing panel, (3 x Torx 25).
- knee bolster, (3 x 13 mm nuts).
The knee bolster may still be secure when the nuts have been removed.

Hint: If the knee bolster is still secure, pry it loose from the outer edge.

Installing soundproofing panel and knee bolster





Install
- knee bolster, (3 x 13 mm nuts).
- First insert the end of the bolster which will be closest to the middle of the car. Put other end into position. M8 knee bolster nuts tightening torque = 20 Nm (14.8 ft. lbs.).
- soundproofing panel, (3 x Torx 25).
