Replacing the kickdown switch (KD)

Note! Automatic transmission: The kickdown switch is integrated in the throttle cable from and including model year 98 onwards. See Replacing the throttle cable Replacing Throttle Cable.

Removal




Separate the connector.
Fold up the rubber cap on the kickdown switch (KD).
Press in the lugs on the switch. Remove the switch from the holder.

Installation
Install a new switch. Ensure that the lugs engage.
Fold down the rubber cap. Connect the connector.

Checking diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)




Check and erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
