Wiper and/or turn signal indicator switch
Wiper switch, replace
Removing the wiper switch
Remove:
- the lower steering shaft cover (3 screws).
Move the steering shaft to the lowest position.
- the steering column upper cover.
- the switch mounting screws (A).
- the switch and disconnect the connectors.
Wiper switch, installation
Install:
- the switch and reconnect the connector.
- the switch mounting screws (A).
- the upper and lower steering shaft covers (3 screws).
Turn signal lamp switch, replace
Removing steering wheel module
- Remove the steering wheel module (2x Torx 30).
- Carefully disconnect the white (W) connector.
- Move the steering wheel module to one side. Always place the igniter side face down.
Removing the steering wheel
- Lock the steering wheel lock.
- Slacken off the steering wheel center nut a little way.
- Unlock the steering wheel lock. Turn the steering wheel to the horizontal position.
- Remove the screw in the plastic strip from the steering wheel and turn the steering wheel to the lock position. Insert the screw in the hole for locking the contact reel and tighten.
- Carefully remove the center nut and remove the steering wheel by twisting / pulling and lifting it.
Caution! Do not turn the steering wheel when the contact reel is locked. The pin on the contact reel will break off.
Steering shaft covers, removing
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the lower steering shaft cover.
- Move the steering shaft to the lowest position.
- Remove the upper steering shaft cover.
Removing connectors
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Pull up the switch holder slightly so that the connectors on the reverse can be disconnected and removed.
- Turn the holder so that the reverse of the turn signal lamp switch is accessible.
Turn signal lamp, removing
- Remove the mounting screws for the switch.
- Remove the switch.
Installing the turn signal lamp switch
- Install the new switch and tighten using the screws (A).
- Connect the connectors and install the mounting screws (B) (3x).
Steering shaft covers, installing
Install the upper and lower steering shaft covers (3 screws).
Steering wheel, installation
- Turn the steering wheel to the horizontal position.
- Install the center nut and hand tighten.
- Remove the locking screw and secure it in the parking hole in the steering wheel.
- Lock the steering wheel lock and tighten the center nut to 43 Nm.
Steering wheel module, installing
- Connect the white (W) connector.
- Reinstall the steering wheel module (2x Torx 30).
