Description Of The Programmed Values

Description of the programmed values

PIN

The car's unique PIN (Personal Identification Number) can be programmed once when replacing the connection plate (control module). The PIN is obtained from the Volvo central car register. This parameter cannot be read off. It can only be programmed.

TOTAL MILEAGE
Programs the total mileage registered in the combined instrument panel. This parameter can only be programmed once. In addition, this programming must be carried out before the mileage registered in the control module has exceeded 100 km (100 miles).

DISTANCE CONDITIONS (MILEAGE) TO SERVICE
Indicates predetermined service interval in km or miles. Options are 5000, 7500, 10000, 12000, 15000, 16000 or 20000 km. For miles the options are 2500, 5000, 6000, 7500, 10000, 12000, 12500, or 13000 miles.

ENGINE HOURS CONDITIONS TO SERVICE
Indicates the predetermined service interval in engine hours. Options are: 500, 750, or 1,000 hours.

TIME CONDITIONS TO SERVICE
Indicates predetermined service interval in hours. Options are: 6, 12, 18 or 24 months.

TIRE SIZE
Indicates tire size for calibrating the speedometer. The control module uses the wheel circumference and vehicle speed to calculate the speed displayed.

CALCULATION TYPE FUEL LEVEL IN THE FUEL TANK
Indicates how the control module calculates the fuel level in the fuel tank based on the signal from the level sensor. Select between Attenuated level, Calculated level or Calculated and Attenuated level.
Bi-fuelcars must have the Attenuated level calculation type selected. Select Calculated level for other engines.

DISPLAY, TIME DISPLAY
Indicates whether the display is 12 or the 24 hour.

INITIAL ZEROS
Indicates whether or not the initial zeros for the values should be displayed.

SPEED WARNING
Indicates at which speed the combined instrument panel should warn the driver. The options are Disengaged or 120/130 km/h. The warning begins at 120 km/h and finishes when 130 km/h is reached.

HIGH TEMPERATURE WARNING DIESEL
This parameter is set if the indication for too high engine coolant temperature (ECT) for diesel engines is to be displayed.
For diesel enginesthe function must be activated.
For gasoline enginesthe function must not be activated.

DISPLAY FOR OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE
Indicates the type of display for temperature or trip computer function that is installed. The alternatives depend on whether the display is in kilometers or miles. For instrument type km, display type km must be used. For instrument type miles, display type miles must be used.

OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY, UNIT OF MEASUREMENT
Indicates whether the values should be displayed in°C or °F.

TRIP COMPUTER FUNCTION
Indicates whether or not the trip computer function is programmed. The options are No trip computer (outside temperature display) or Trip computer.

Note! Protected with a PIN code.

FUEL CONSUMPTION CALCULATION, OFFSET
Gives the trip computervalue for fuel consumption. This value may need to be reprogrammed if the trip computer value does not correspond to the actual value. This programming is only relevant if the display is installed and the trip computer function is programmed. The values can be selected within the range of +10.9375 % to -10.9375 %.

Note! Protected with a PIN code.

FUEL LEVEL, OFFSET
This parameter is used to set the deviation from displayed fuel level sensor value. This value may need to be reprogrammed if the shape of the fuel tank has been changed. The values can be selected within the range of +2.0 l to -2.0 l.

ENGINE TYPE
This parameter is used to program which engine management system the car is equipped with. The correct type of engine management system must be programmed before the combined instrument panel can display the correct engine coolant temperature (ECT).
The following engine management systems are available:
- Diesel and gasoline engines (not Melco 2)
- Gasoline engines Melco 2.

Clarification of the engine management systems
- Diesel EDC 15C= D4192T3, D4192T4
- Melco 2 = B4184SJ.

ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
This parameter is used to program the engine management system the car is equipped with. The engine management systems transmits different temperature signals to the combined instrument panel. The correct type of engine management system must be programmed before the combined instrument panel can display the correct engine coolant temperature (ECT).
The following engine management systems are available:
- Diesel EDC 15.C, Melco 2
- EMS 2000 Bi-fuel
- EMS 2000.

Clarification of the engine management systems
- Diesel EDC 15C= D4192T3, D4192T4
- Melco 2= B4184SJ
- EMS 2000= Naturally aspirated engines and all turbocharged gasoline engines
- EMS 2000 Bifuel, for bi-fuel cars.

Note! Protected with a PIN code.

SPEEDOMETER DISPLAY
This parameter is used to program the speedometer display according to type and market. Select between Europe, Europe turbocharger (TC) gasoline, Overseas or US.

Note! Protected with a PIN code.

TIME DELAY
A time delay begins when the combined instrument panel detects that the gas level in the fuel tank is low (via the signal from the gas level sensor). After the time delay, the combined instrument panel transmits a signal to the LPG control module indicating low gas level and the engine control module (ECM) for EMS2000 switches to gasoline power. This parameter is used to program the length of the time delay. The delay can be set between 0 and 20 minutes in increments of 1 minute. The default value is 10 minutes.

Note! Only applies to bi-fuel cars. Protected with a PIN code.

Readable values (applies to 2000 model year-)

FUNCTION INSTRUMENT, VERSION
Indicates if the combined instrument panel is equipped for an outside temperature / trip computer function.

FUNCTION SRI
Indicates if the combined instrument panel is equipped for SRI function or not.

FUNCTION SPEED WARNING
Indicates if the combined instrument panel is equipped for speed warning or not.

INPUT SIGNAL HIGH TEMPERATURE WARNING / MELCO ECONOMY INDICATION
Indicates if the combined instrument panel is equipped for input signal to #B12 or not.

Note! This function must be activated for diesel and Melco engine management systems. It must not be activated for other engines

FUNCTION LAMP TEST 10 SECONDS
