Emergency Battery: Service and Repair






Reserve battery Volvo On Call, replacing

Removing the reserve battery




Remove the radio/telephone. See Radio cassette player, replacing Radio Cassette Player, Replacing.
Remove the keypad.
Remove two screws (Torx 6) as illustrated.
Open the cover and lift out the battery.
Press the catch with a screwdriver to unplug the connector.

Note! Be very careful when releasing the catch. The connector and printed circuit board are fragile.

Note! Mark a cross in the box on the battery decal when the reserve battery has been installed to prevent new and old batteries from being mixed up.





Installing the reserve battery

Install:
- the connector on the circuit board.

Note! Check that the catch locks the connector.

- the cover.
- the two screws.
- the keypad.
- the radio/telephone. See Radio cassette player, replacing Radio Cassette Player, Replacing.
The counter must be reset when a new reserve battery has been installed. To reset the reserve battery, see VIDA: Vehicle communication, Group 3, Car phone, "Resetting the reserve battery".
