Replacing the seal for the torque converter

Removing the torque converter




Grasp the torque converter (it is heavy). Pull it straight out of the transmission shaft.

Note! Store it so that the oil does not run out.

Removing the sealing ring from the transmission




Use puller 999 5762 Extractor 999 5762 Extractor.
Press the three hooks on puller 999-5762-1 into the sealing ring. Fold up the hooks in the sealing ring.

Install:
- the counterhold on puller 999 5762-2 between the hooks and in the sealing ring
- puller 999 5762 Extractor 999 5762 Extractor on the hooks.
Extract the sealing ring. It may sit firmly.

Note! Blow clean before installation.

Use drift 999 5763 Drift 999 5763 Drift on the sealing ring.
Tap in the sealing ring to the bottom position.
Check that the sealing ring is correctly positioned against the transmission housing.

Installing the torque converter





Install the torque converter on the shaft
Lift and turn the torque converter slightly so that it positions correctly on the shaft and bottoms out in the transmission.
