Draining refrigerant, vacuum-pumping, and filling

Operation number: 87004-2

Note! Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.

Safety precautions when working on the air conditioning system. Refer to: Safety information air conditioning system Safety Information Air Conditioning System

First read the instructions covering slow and fast leaks. Refer to: AC-system, oil, refilling AC-System, Oil, Refilling

Note! Make sure that all openings are sealed.

Refrigerant, draining

Note! Ensure that the vehicle and surroundings maintain a temperature of at least 19°C.

The high pressure side's (HP) service valve is concealed under the cover above the air conditioning aggregate.
1. Remove the screws, 2 pcs, by the cover's right-hand side at the bonnet's height adjustment rubber.
2. Remove the screw, 1 pcs., remove the air intake.
Lift up the plate to access the service valve and connect the high pressure side's (HP) refrigerant hose.

When draining refrigerant, the recycling unit can be attached to the service valve for both the high pressure side (HP) and the low pressure side (LP) at the same time. This is the quickest method. Check the amount of fluid (if any) that has run out when draining the refrigerant

Vacuum pumping

The high pressure side's (HP) service valve is concealed under the cover above the air conditioning aggregate. (See refrigerant draining above). During vacuum pumping, the vacuum pump can be connected to the service valves for both the high pressure (HP) and low pressure (LP) sides. Vacuum pump system for at least 50 minutes. The vacuum must be checked after vacuum pumping. Carry out Refrigerant filling in direct connection with vacuum pumping, see below.

Refrigerant, filling

Only fill refrigerant on the low pressure side's (LP) service valve (Orifice system). A specification decal in the engine compartment indicates how much refrigerant the A/C system holds.
