Replacing Front Seat Belts






Seat belt front, replacing

Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed seat belt tensioner. There is a risk that the seat belt
tensioner could deploy.


Warning! The seat belt tensioner must never be taken apart, repaired or moved to another vehicle.

Preparations




Move the front seat as far forward as possible. Fold the backrest forward.
Disconnect the battery lead. See Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.

Removing front seat belts





Remove:
- the end mounting. See End mounting, replacing End Mounting, Replacing
- the B-post panel. See Panel B-post, replacing Panel, B-Post, Replacing
- the connector
- the three screws
- the clip for the mounting for the SRS ignition cable in the bracket
- the bracket for the seat belt and seat belt (inertia) reel.

Installing front seat belts

Install:
- the bracket for the seat belt
- the 3 screws. Tighten. See Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
- the connector
- the B-post panel. See Panel B-post, replacing Panel, B-Post, Replacing
- the end mounting. See End mounting, replacing End Mounting, Replacing
Check the function of the seat belt. See Seat belt function, check Testing and Inspection.
