SRS Unit Replacement
Removal
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the driver's dashboard center lower cover Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover Removal/Installation and passenger's dashboard center lower cover. Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
3. Remove the TORX bolt (A) using a TORX T30 bit.
4. With navigation system: Remove the audio unit. Audio Unit Removal/Installation (With ELS Audio System)
5. Without navigation system: Remove the dashboard center pocket. Dashboard Center Pocket Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)
6. Disconnect SRS unit connectors A (39P) and B (39P) from the SRS unit (C).
NOTE: The SRS unit connectors have lever locks Release the locks before disconnecting the connectors.. Service and Repair
7. Remove the TORX bolts (D) using a TORX T30 bit, then pull out the SRS unit.
Installation
1. Install the SRS unit (A) with a new TORX bolt (B), using a TORX T30 bit.
NOTE: Be sure the SRS unit is sitting squarely against its bracket before torquing the TORX bolt.
2. Install the new TORX bolts (A) using a TORX T30 bit.
3. Connect the connectors (B) to the SRS unit; push them into position until they click and the lever locks are fully secured. Service and Repair
4. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures
5. Make sure the SRS unit has the latest software. If it dose not have the latest, update the software in the SRS unit. SRS Unit Update
6. Do the ODS unit initialization. ODS Unit Initialization
7. Check the operation of the ODS unit with the HDS. ODS Unit Operation Check
8. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
9. Reinstall all removed parts.
