Air Routing and Air Distribution In Front Passenger Compartment

Component locations of individual components, refer to => [ A/C System Control and Regulation Components Inside Passenger Compartment ] A/C System Control and Regulation Components Inside Passenger Compartment and=> [ A/C Unit and Front Air Intake Housing Components ] A/C Unit and Front Air Intake Housing Components.

The passenger compartment is ventilated via two ventilation frames (in the luggage compartment on the right and left near the bumper), refer to => [ Passenger Compartment Forced Air Extraction, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.






1 Instrument Panel

With air ducts to defroster vents and various instrument panel vents.

Different versions. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog.

2 Vents For Indirect Ventilation

3 Defroster Vent/Front Window

Air duct to windshield.

If the intermediate piece for air routing/defrost - item 14 => [ (Item 14) Air Duct/Defrost Intermediate Piece ] was crushed or crumpled when the instrument panel was installed, the air routed to the windshield will be uneven or insufficient..

4 Vent To Right Front Door (Front Passenger's Doors)

5 Right Side Vent With Position Sensor In Right Side Vent (G629)

Remove and install the side vent.

Remove and install Position Sensor In Right Side Vent.

Check the Position Sensor In Right Side Vent using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

After replacement of the potentiometer (for adapting the end stops), adapt the Climatronic control module (J255) using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

6 Right Center Vent With Position Sensor In Right Center Vent (G627)

Remove and install the center vent.

Remove and install Position Sensor In Right Center Vent.

Check the Position Sensor In Right Center Vent using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

After replacement of the potentiometer (for adapting the end stops), adapt the Climatronic control module (J255) using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

7 Left Center Vent With Position Sensor In Left Center Vent (G626)

Remove and install the center vent.

Remove and install Position Sensor In Left Center Vent.

Check the Position Sensor In Left Center Vent using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

After replacement of the potentiometer (for adapting the end stops), adapt the Climatronic control module (J255) using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

8 Left Side Vent With Position Sensor In Left Side Vent (G628)

Remove and install the side vent.

Remove and install Position Sensor In Left Side Vent.

Check the Position Sensor In Left Side Vent using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

After replacement of the potentiometer (for adapting the end stops), adapt the Climatronic control module (J255) using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

9 Vent To Left Front Door (Driver Door)

10 Air Guide / Dash Panel

With the air ducts to the defroster vents and various instrument panel vents to the windshield.

Different versions. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog.

The air duct is part of the instrument panel - item 1 => [ (Item 1) Instrument Panel ] and cannot be replaced individually..

11 Air Duct To The Instrument Panel Vent And Left Side Window

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Duct To Instrument Panel Vent and Left Side Window ] Air Duct To Instrument Panel Vent and Left Side Window.

12 Air Duct With Defroster Door And Left Side Window Defroster Door Motor (V409)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Left Side Window Defroster Door Motor (V409) ] Left Side Window Defroster Door Motor (V409).

13 Left Front Footwell Vent

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Left Footwell Vents ] Left Footwell Vents.

14 Air Duct/Defrost Intermediate Piece

Different versions. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog.

If the intermediate piece air flow / defrost was crushed or crumpled when the dash panel was being installed, then the air flow to the windshield will be uneven or insufficient.

15 A/C Unit With Air Intake Housing

16 Air Duct For Glove Compartment Cooling

Check the glove compartment foam seal for damage.
