Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the front ashtray (6). Refer to Ashtray Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. With a small flat-bladed tool remove the following switches from the IP accessory trim plate:

* The passengers heated seat switch (2).
* The traction control switch (3).
* The rear sunshade switch (4), if equipped.
* The trunk release switch (5).
* The drivers heated seat switch (1).
* The hazard switch (8).
* The fuel door release switch (7).




3. Remove the IP accessory trim plate screws.
4. Pull the IP accessory trim plate forward to gain access to the switch electrical connectors.
5. With a small flat-bladed tool disengage the lock tabs for the electrical connector. Remove all the electrical connectors from the IP accessory trim plate except the hazard switch.
6. Remove the electrical connector for the hazard switch by sliding the connector downward from the IP accessory trim plate.
7. Remove the IP accessory trim plate from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the electrical connector for the hazard switch by sliding the connector upward into the IP accessory trim plate.
2. Install the remaining switch electrical connectors into the back of the IP accessory trim plate.
Press the electrical connectors until fully seated engaging the locking tabs.
3. Install the IP accessory trim plate to instrument panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the IP accessory trim plate screws.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).




5. Align the following switches to the electrical connectors in the IP accessory trim plate and install:

* The drivers heated seat switch (1).
* The hazard switch (8).
* The fuel door release switch (7).
* The passengers heated seat switch (2).
* The traction control switch (3).
* The rear sunshade switch (4), if equipped.
* The trunk release switch (5).

6. Push switches inward until fully seated. This will engage the switches to the electrical connectors in the IP accessory trim plate.
7. Install the front ashtray (6). Refer to Ashtray Replacement (Service and Repair).
