Hood Replacement

Replacement Procedure




1. Open and support the hood.
2. Apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
3. Remove the hood assist rods. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with an grease pencil.
5. Remove the hood hinge to hood bolts, with an assistant.
6. Remove the hood, with an assistant.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the hood to the vehicle, with an assistant.
2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




3. Install the hood hinge to hood bolts.

Tighten the hood hinge to hood bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

4. Install the hood assist rods. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Adjust the hood. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments).
