Engine Oil Level and Temperature Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the engine splash shield (2).
3. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Disconnect the engine oil level switch electrical connector (2) from the engine oil level switch (3).
5. Remove the engine oil level switch to engine oil pan retaining bolt (4).
6. Remove the engine oil level switch (3) from the oil pan (1).
7. Discard the engine oil level switch O-ring.
Installation Procedure
1. Install a NEW O-ring to the engine oil level switch (3).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the engine oil level switch (3) to the engine oil pan (1).
3. Install the engine oil level switch to engine oil pan retaining bolt (4) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
4. Connect the engine oil level switch electrical connector (2) to the engine oil level switch (3).
5. Install a NEW oil pan drain plug seal to the oil pan drain plug (1).
6. Install the oil pan drain plug (1) to the oil pan (2) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
7. Install the engine splash shield (2).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement Service and Repair.
10. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
