PINPOINT TEST H: INTERMITTENT NO MEDIUM SPEED CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (MS-CAN) COMMUNICATION, ONE OR MORE MODULES ARE NOT RESPONDING DURING NETWORK TESTNOTE: The smart junction box (SJB) is also known as the generic electronic module (GEM).
Normal Operation
The MS-CAN uses an unshielded twisted pair cable, circuits VDB06 (GY/OG) and VDB07 (VT/OG). The audio control module (ACM), satellite digital audio receiver system (SDARS) module and smart junction box (SJB) and the instrument cluster (IC) all communicate on the MS-CAN.
In the event that one of the 2 network circuits (HS-CAN + or HS-CAN -) becomes open to a module on the network, unreliable network communication to all modules on the network may result.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
