Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Disassembly/Reassembly
Special Tools Required
- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

NOTE:
- Have an assistant help you when disassembling and assembling the dashboard/steering hanger beam.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, the body, or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Removal/Installation.
2. Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Instrument visor Instrument Visor Removal/Installation
- Center pocket:
- Without navigation Dashboard Center Pocket Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)
- With navigation Dashboard Center Pocket Removal/Installation (With Navigation)
- Driver's outer dashboard trim Driver's Outer Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Driver's inner dashboard trim Driver's Inner Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard trim Passenger's Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Dashboard vents:
- Driver's dashboard vent
- Passenger's dashboard vent
- Center dashboard vent (with navigation)
- Side defogger vent trim Side Defogger Vent Trim Removal/Installation
- Gauge control module Gauge Control Module Replacement
- Sunlight sensor Service and Repair
- Humidity/In-car temperature sensor Service and Repair
- Audio disk changer (with navigation) Service and Repair
- Front passenger's airbag Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement
- HandsFreeLink control unit (for some models) Service and Repair
3. With navigation: Remove the bolts, then remove the center pocket frame (A) from the dashboard.
4. Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Audio unit:
- Without navigation Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)
- With navigation Audio Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)
- Center display visor:
- Without navigation Dashboard Center Display Visor Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)
- With navigation Dashboard Center Display Visor Removal/Installation (With Navigation)
- Audio-HVAC display unit (without navigation) Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation
- GPS antenna (with navigation) Service and Repair
- Driver's outer middle pad Dashboard Drivers Outer Middle Pad Removal/Installation
- Driver's inner middle pad Dashboard Drivers Inner Middle Pad Removal/Installation
- Passenger's middle pad Dashboard Passengers Middle Pad Removal/Installation
Driver's Side
5. Detach the harness clip (A) from the dashboard.
Center Dashboard
6. Detach the harness clip (A) from the dashboard duct.
7. Release the harness holder (A) from the dashboard.
Passenger's Side
8. Disconnect the glove box light bulb socket (A), and detach the harness clips (B) from the dashboard duct. Detach the harness clip (C) from the dashboard.
9. Remove the screw, and detach the clips, then remove the dashboard center duct (A).
10. Remove the bolts from the front of the dashboard (A).
11. Remove the screws (A, B) from the back of the dashboard (C), then separate the dashboard from the steering hanger beam (D).
12. Assemble the dashboard and the steering hanger beam in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched.
- Make sure the glove box light bulb socket is connected properly.
- Push the harness clips and the harness holder into place securely.
